Private Homes, Washington DC

With these three private house projects, the lighting design office Illuminations demonstrates how the innovative Buschfeld track lighting can be used in a variety of ways to meet both functional and aesthetic requirements. Each project is an example of the perfect integration of lighting design into modern architecture.

In the first project, the focus was on staging wood and metal art. The challenge here was to find a lighting solution that would illuminate the artwork from the front and not from above - as is often the case with conventional picture lights. The Buschfeld spotlights proved to be the ideal solution, as they discreetly yet effectively highlight the art in this modern house. The minimalist and stylish look of the spots blended in perfectly with the modern architecture without detracting from the aesthetics.

The second project shows a minimalist lighting installation in the living room. The client wanted a lighting system that would not visually overload the wooden beams and the rest of the room's interior. The square light track from Buschfeld blends seamlessly into the design without dominating the depth of the room.
The spotlight in front of the artwork is particularly striking, with its simple shape, various surface options and even light distribution perfectly setting off the entire artwork. This luminaire is a preferred choice for picture lighting.

The third project transformed a long hallway into a personal art gallery. The photos on the walls were taken by the client herself, who travels a lot with her husband. The challenge was to illuminate all the artworks evenly without visually overloading the narrow hallway, which also serves as the main focal point when entering the house. The slimline Buschfeld lighting system was the perfect solution as it is minimalist enough to blend discreetly into the architecture. The track lighting also provided the flexibility to install numerous spotlights to optimally illuminate all the artworks in this confined space.
