The Art Light is a specially developed black light project light for the Buschfeld 48V track system and offers maximum UV performance for art installations, events and special effects. It integrates seamlessly into the Buschfeld Pend48, Ceiling48, In48, Steel48 Floor and Tri48 Floor systems and enables precise light control thanks to the swivelling luminaire head.
Equipped with high-quality Nichia UV-A LEDs (385 nm), the Art Light ensures uniform and intense fluorescence without any disturbing visible light. The light is conveniently controlled via Casambi.

Black light opens up completely new dimensions in art: invisible light makes colours and materials visible, makes works glow and intensifies spatial perceptual effects. In modern light art in particular, UV light is used specifically to explore the relationship between light, space and material.
The Art Light was specially developed for the black light staging in Regine Schumann's "Hidden Gems" art project. The exact UV-A wavelength of 385 nm creates a particularly pure and powerful fluorescence that allows works of art to appear in a completely new light. The targeted light control and flexible integration into the Buschfeld system enable customised lighting.
In addition to this standard version, further variants are available, including the Art Light Mono48 single luminaire and smaller, even more flexible versions with extended swivelling and tilting functions. Art Light thus offers customised solutions for a wide variety of art installations.

Regine Schumann is a German artist known for her work with fluorescent materials and black light. Her works are often made of acrylic glass, which glows intensely under UV light and creates fascinating plays of colour. In order to illuminate works of art such as hers optimally with black light, certain parameters must be observed.
Important parameters for good black light in artificial lighting
Wavelength range: Optimum: 365-385 nm (UV-A range)
Light colour & purity: UV light should be as pure as possible, i.e. contain little visible violet light. High-quality black light LEDs with 385 nm emit hardly any visible light and produce some of the best fluorescence.
Avoidance of disturbing reflections: UV light can be reflective, so use matt surfaces or targeted light guidance. Select positioning so that no disturbing reflections form on the acrylic glass of the artwork.
Dark surroundings: Regine Schumann's works are best shown to their best advantage in darkened rooms. Minimise disturbing light sources (e.g. daylight, white LEDs) to achieve maximum fluorescence.
